College of DuPage is seeking an Academic Assistant I to support students in the Writing, Reading, Speech Assistance area. The role involves delivering writing, reading, and public speaking help in classroom or online settings, and offering orientations to WRSA services.

The ideal candidate has an Associate's degree with English 1102 and Speech 1100, strong communication skills, and a customer-focused approach.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required, including English 1102 and Speech 1100 with a grade of B or higher and a GPA of 3.3.
• Experience teaching or providing academic assistance in a related discipline preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including proficiency in spoken English required.

Responsibilities

• Provide writing, reading, and public speaking assistance to students in all academic disciplines taught at COD, in person or online.
• Provide in-class orientations on WRSA services.
• Maintain current and relevant knowledge in subject areas and general study skills.
• Serve as a resource to peer academic assistants and other academic assistants.
• Develop and participate in training on related topics; develop and compile resource materials.
