Job summary

Sentry in Stevens Point, WI is seeking a Transition Service Specialist to help cancel or discontinue 401(k) plans in accordance with procedures and IRS/DOL rules. You will coordinate plan terminations, communicate with employers, ensure contract requirements, and accurately close out credits and counts.

In this hybrid role, you’ll work with Client Services and perform quality audits, supporting timely asset distributions and filing changes in our systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or minimum of 1 year related work experience.
• Previous experience in 401K plan administration strongly preferred.
• Effective communication, human relations, and organizational skills.
• Understanding of 401K/retirement plan administration including IRS/DOL regulations.
• CEBS/ASPPA or similar courses are beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Process the cancellation of plans for contracts, including investment-only contracts.
• Communicate with employers throughout the plan termination process.
• Ensure contract and service agreement requirements are met and assets are distributed as elected.
• Make system changes to ensure sales credits and service commitments are closed out.
• Collaborate with Client Services Team and perform quality audits.
