Job summary

Sentry Insurance is seeking a Transition Service Specialist for the 401K team to coordinate cancellations or discontinuances with new providers, ensuring compliance with IRS/DOL rules and contract provisions.

You will work with employers through plan terminations, process closures, and ensure timely distribution of assets while maintaining accuracy and audit-ready reporting across our hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1 year of related work experience preferred
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Understanding of 401K/retirement plan administration including IRS/DOL regulations
• Professional development through CEBS/ASPPA beneficial

Responsibilities

• Process cancellation of plans for contracts, including investment-only contracts
• Coordinate termination with new providers following procedures and contractual provisions
• Communicate with employers through plan termination
• Ensure assets are distributed timely per contract-holders and participants
• Complete system changes to reflect sales credits, contract counts, and service commitments
