Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced 3D Substation Designer to collaborate with engineers and a senior designer on high and extra-high voltage substations. You will produce 3D models using Inventor, AutoCAD, P4A, and SDS, and generate General Arrangement drawings, equipment plans, sections, and BOMs.

The role requires 8+ years in 3D substations, strong CAD skills, and the ability to visualize and layout equipment per IEEE standards.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Drafting or higher is required.
• Minimum 8 years of 3D substation modeling and physical design experience.
• Proficient with 3D CAD tools: AutoCAD, Inventor, P4A, Vault Pro, SDS.
• Ability to visualize in 3D and layout equipment per IEEE standards.
• Able to follow CAD standards.

Responsibilities

• Produce 3D substation models and related drawings using SDS, Inventor, AutoCAD, and P4A.
• Incorporate vendor information into designs.
• Conduct client site walkdowns at substations.
