Job summary

Hy-Vee is seeking a Hy-Chi Department Clerk to deliver friendly, fast service in a busy department. You will take orders, handle payments, and ensure product quality and cleanliness while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for every customer.

We provide training, a team-focused environment, and opportunities to grow in a dynamic grocery setting in Minnesota. This role involves shift work including nights and weekends with competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• Provide friendly customer service and engage with customers.
• Follow written and verbal instructions with attention to detail.
• Apply basic math for transactions and counting.
• Communicate clearly with customers and team members.
• Learn and apply sanitation, food safety, and department procedures.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and take orders at the Hy-Chi counter.
• Review orders for the day and ensure adequate food supply by following a production list.
• Prepare, finish, and replenish product; pull from cooler/freezer for cooking.
• Maintain freshness and quality throughout the shift.
• Operate the department register, receive payment, and make change as applicable.
• Follow sanitation procedures and keep the work area clean and safe.
• Assist with other tasks as needed.
