Job summary

Hy-Vee Inc. in Wisconsin’s Fitchburg area is seeking a Hy-Chi Department Clerk to greet customers, take orders at the Hy-Chi counter, and keep the department running smoothly with accurate prep and replenishment of products.

You will review daily production lists, ensure fresh, quality items, operate the department register, and uphold sanitation and safety standards while delivering friendly, helpful service to shoppers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Up to six months of similar or related experience; training provided.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with attention to detail.
• Ability to compute basic math and record accurately.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Knowledge of sanitation and food safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and take orders at the Hy-Chi counter.
• Develop or follow production lists to ensure adequate food supply.
• Prepare and replenish product and pull from cooler/freezer for cooking.
• Check freshness and maintain quality standards throughout the shift.
• Run the department register and handle payments.
• Maintain sanitation and a safe, clean work area.
• Order products and supplies as needed.
• Answer phones and provide friendly service to customers.
