Job summary

Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) has an exciting opportunity for an HWIL Systems Engineer supporting the TOS II contract at AEDC, Arnold Air Force Base, TN. You will be the primary operational lead for the RSSL, overseeing lab modernization and readiness to support mission-critical ground test programs.

The role requires interfacing with System Administrators, Controls and Data SMEs, and external vendors, to maintain a robust off-line analysis capability and ensure the facility is prepared for

Qualifications

• BS in EE/Mechatronics/CE with 8+ years aerospace/industrial R&D in HWIL or real-time systems.
• Experience with HWIL systems, real-time simulation, or ICS.
• Experience with configuration management and troubleshooting in a lab/test facility.
• Must be able to obtain/maintain active security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a stable environment for plant simulation, development, and checkout in ETF, PWT, and APTU.
• Troubleshoot the simulation environment with HWIL users.
• Lead Lab Configuration Management for hardware, software, and models.
• Prepare lab configurations for testing and validation for pre-test evaluations.
• Interface with System Administrators, SMEs, Data SMEs, and vendors (e.g., MathWorks).
• Drive modernization: reflective memory replacement, automated regression testing, footprint consolidation.
• Manage centralized services: accounts, security, file servers, simulation status.
• Train facility operators on new controls under the SREO initiative.
• Maintain readiness for HWIL systems deployed to test facilities.
• Stay aware of emerging tech to improve efficiency and reliability.
• Wear PPE as required.
• Perform other related duties.
