Job summary

Meta is seeking a software engineer to join the AI & Systems Co-Design team to shape next-generation compute and storage architectures. You will collaborate with internal software and platforms teams to drive workload analysis, identify bottlenecks, and influence roadmaps for efficient systems powering Meta’s fleet.

The role involves co-design activities, benchmarks development, and external collaboration to publish work and contribute to open source.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Rust, Java, PHP, Python.
• 5+ years of experience with hardware architecture, compute technologies and storage systems.

Responsibilities

• Identify platform bottlenecks across CPUs, memory, storage, networking and GPUs; re-architect services.
• Develop benchmarks in C++/Rust/Python/Hack to capture fleet requirements and evaluate platforms.
• Drive workload analysis and align with evolving business needs for compute/storage performance.
• Explore hardware/software co-design opportunities and contribute to roadmap definitions.
• Influence vendor roadmaps and partner with engineering teams to deploy hardware roadmaps.
