Job summary

Hitachi Energy in the United States is seeking a Mechanical Plant Design Engineer to support HVDC converter station projects with mechanical plant design, layout development, and cross‑discipline coordination across project phases.

You will work with 3D modelling and 2D drawings, develop mechanical interfaces and design docs, and help ensure safety, quality, cost and schedule targets are met while integrating input from civil, electrical and procurement teams.

Qualifications

• University degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent technical discipline.
• Experience in 3D modelling and 2D drafting within mechanical or plant engineering.
• Experience with CAD/PLM tools; NX and Teamcenter are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical plant design for HVDC converter stations, including 3D modelling and 2D drawings/layouts.
• Prepare drawings, layouts, BOMs, and engineering estimates.
• Collaborate with civil, electrical, project, tender, supplier, contractor stakeholders.
