Job summary

Franklin Independent School District is seeking a Maintenance/HVACR Technician to support district-wide HVAC, refrigeration equipment and all operating systems. This role reports to the Director of Maintenance and requires EPA Universal Technician Certification and at least five years of HVAC experience.

The technician will troubleshoot unit controls for boilers, air conditioners, and chillers, operate building automation systems and VFDs, and participate in after-hours on-call rotations while

Qualifications

• HVAC knowledge and experience with air handling units, boilers, chillers, and related controls.
• Basic electrical, plumbing and carpentry skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot unit controls for boilers, AC, refrigeration equipment, air compressors and motors.
• EPA Universal Technician Certification required.
• Minimum five years in the HVAC field.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.

Responsibilities

• Assists in maintaining HVAC, refrigeration equipment and all operating systems district wide.
• Reports to the Director of Maintenance.
• Performs tasks with limited supervision for air conditioning/refrigeration units from 1 ton to 300 ton.
• On-call after hours on a rotating basis.
• Observe safety precautions in potentially dangerous situations.
• Clean cooling coils, equipment and boilers; operate BAS and VFDs.
• May perform other duties including electrical, plumbing or carpentry as assigned.
