Job summary

Truckee Meadows Community College is recruiting for a full‑time Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVACR) Specialist 1 in Facilities Operations. The role maintains mechanical equipment across the main campus and satellite sites, ensuring a safe, healthy environment and compliance with relevant codes and standards.

Essential qualifications include completion of an HVACR apprenticeship or an equivalent combination of education and experience, with EPA Refrigerant

Qualifications

• Completion of a recognized HVACR apprenticeship program or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• EPA Refrigerant Certification is required.
• Valid Class C Nevada driver’s license or higher at appointment and ongoing.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, repair, installation and modification of HVAC/R, boilers, pumps, valves, and direct digital controls across TMCC main campus and satellite sites (Edison, Redfield/HSC, Meadowood).
• Address indoor air quality and ensure a safe, healthy environment for facilities users.
• Move and lift heavy objects as required by the job; work within a schedule Mon–Fri 8:00am–4:30pm with potential for after-hours as needed.
