Job summary

State of Nevada in Carlin is seeking an HVACR Specialist with a recognized apprenticeship and journey level experience to maintain and repair HVACR systems across the campus. You will perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and system upgrades to keep facilities safe and efficient.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, repairing, and installing HVACR components, mentoring staff as needed, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Completion of a recognized HVACR apprenticeship program followed by one year of journey level experience in HVACR installation, operation, maintenance and repair.
• Or one year of experience as a HVACR Specialist I in Nevada State service.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience accepted.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on HVACR equipment and related systems to ensure reliable operation.
• Inspect equipment for proper functioning and monitor temperatures, pressures and safety controls.
• Repair and modify HVACR equipment, replacing pipes, valves and electrical components as needed.
• Install new components such as thermostats, insulation, and fine-tune systems for energy efficiency.
