What you will do:
Under minimal supervision, conduct preventive maintenance, repair, installation, commissioning, and general servicing of systems, including detailed troubleshooting. Ensure high customer satisfaction through onsite interactions. Complete all required project and service documentation. Provide top-tier service to resolve building inefficiencies and service issues, acting as a trusted advisor to customers by offering solutions and outcomes at the time of service.
How you will do it:
- Diagnose and repair complex control system malfunctions, requiring extensive knowledge of electronic or digital controls systems and the ability to test and modify system software in multiple languages.
- Consult with customers through data collection and site assessments. Propose retrofits, upgrades, or enhancements. Support sales with technical recommendations.
- Manage assigned tasks efficiently, ensuring professional execution and customer satisfaction. Report issues promptly. Coordinate with relevant managers and subcontractors professionally.
- Provide sketches of field changes and discrepancies for engineering corrections. Assist with job layouts and bid proposals as needed.
- Communicate with customers upon arrival and before departure. Maintain high customer satisfaction by keeping clients informed about services, issues, and system recommendations. Promote additional sales opportunities.
- Adhere to Johnson Controls and customer safety standards. Promote safety awareness onsite.
- Train customers in control system operations and deliver necessary manuals and documentation.
- Support and train mechanical staff on non-critical equipment.
- Engage in continuous self-study to maintain technical proficiency, completing certifications as required.
- Perform duties related to installation, commissioning, and servicing of building controls, facilities management, and energy systems.
- Assist in software development and testing for system operation as per project requirements.
- Order and track materials for projects.
- Keep management and stakeholders informed of progress and issues.
- Conduct site-specific training for owners/operators.
- Participate in project release meetings.
- Recommend solutions for operational efficiency and upselling opportunities.
- Provide quotes supporting recommendations and solutions.
What we look for:
Required
- Graduates of vocational or four-year technical programs, or two years' experience servicing electronic and mechanical systems.
- Ability to install and service electronic control systems and HVAC equipment.
- Effective communication skills for customer interactions.
- Ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Strong writing skills and familiarity with programs and software applications.
- Knowledge of control theory, temperature controls, building automation, and subsystems.
