What you will do

How will you do it

We are looking for skilled HVAC Mechanics with practical work experience in their trade, including HVAC piping, plumbing, pipefitting, and/or mechanical equipment service industry.

Mechanics should have hands-on experience with light commercial or commercial mechanical equipment. Passing a skills examination may be required. The scope of work is limited to commercial HVACR service. Mechanics may collaborate with Journeymen in repairing centrifugal, steam turbines, and open-drive screw chillers. Responsibilities include performing maintenance, repair, and replacement services on commercial heating and cooling systems.

Deliver exceptional service to customers by diagnosing facility issues and providing effective solutions. Act as a trusted advisor during commissioning and aftermarket service, offering recommendations to optimize facility performance and identify upselling opportunities. Prepare quotes supporting your recommendations.

What we look for

Required

  • Be a dedicated team member willing to learn and responsible for system troubleshooting, repair, and aftermarket services in a fast-growing business.
  • Membership or willingness to join a local Union.
  • At least three (3) years of commercial and/or industrial mechanical troubleshooting experience in the HVAC industry, including work on rooftop units, pumps, fans, towers, boilers, chillers, compressors, and plumbing.
  • Experience with mechanical shaft alignment using dial indicators on pumps, fans, and compressors.
  • Ability to use vibration equipment for troubleshooting drivelines.
  • Travel may be required 10% to 20% to support customer activities, troubleshooting, installation, and repair.
  • Ability to pass a knowledge examination to assess proficiency.
  • Opportunity to enroll in training programs to enhance knowledge in HVAC products and sales quoting.
  • Collaborate with local market mechanics, Servicemen, and apprentices.
  • Strong interpersonal, digital, and written communication skills to accurately describe problems, causes, and corrective actions to customers.
  • Ability to provide quotes to customers and participate in JCI’s Service Plus Rewards program.
  • Self-motivated with a passion and desire to learn and apply new skills on the job.
  • Prioritize safety in all tasks.
  • Possession of a universal EPA refrigerants license, applicable state or local licenses, and a valid driver’s license.
