What you will do

Under minimal supervision, conduct preventive maintenance, repairs, installation, commissioning, and general servicing of systems, including troubleshooting. Ensure high customer satisfaction through direct on-site interaction. Mentor control, service, and mechanical technicians on building automation. Complete all project and service documentation properly. Provide top-tier service to resolve building inefficiencies and service issues, offering solutions and outcomes as a trusted advisor to customers.

How you will do it

• Diagnose and repair complex control system malfunctions, requiring extensive knowledge of electronic/digital controls and ability to test and modify system software in multiple languages.
• Consult with customers based on data and site assessments; propose retrofits, upgrades, and enhancements. Support sales with technical recommendations.
• Manage assigned work efficiently, report issues immediately, and coordinate with management and subcontractors professionally.
• Provide sketches for field changes and discrepancies, assist with job layouts and bids.
• Communicate with customers on arrival and departure, ensure satisfaction, and recommend system improvements. Promote additional work.
• Follow all safety standards and lead safety initiatives onsite, including training for subcontractors.
• Train customers on control systems, provide manuals, and support certification of technicians.
• Maintain documentation, pursue ongoing technical education, and complete required certifications.
• Support installation, commissioning, and servicing of building controls and energy management systems.
• Assist with design, software testing, and project documentation.
• Coordinate material orders, assist with system validation, and troubleshoot issues with subcontractors.
• Contribute to as-built documentation and coordinate training for owners/operators.
• Participate in project meetings, recommend operational improvements, and support sales with quotes.

• Minimum of 4 years of commercial controls troubleshooting experience in HVAC, including buildings and chillers.
• Vocational school or associate's degree in a technical field, or two years' experience servicing electronic/mechanical systems.
• Proven ability to install and service electronic control systems and HVAC equipment.
• Effective communication skills to represent Johnson Controls professionally on customer sites.
• Ability to explain technical info clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong writing skills and familiarity with relevant software applications.
• Knowledge of control theory, building automation, and subsystems.
