What You Will Do

Under minimal supervision, conduct preventive maintenance, repairs, installation, commissioning, and general servicing of systems, including troubleshooting. Ensure high customer satisfaction through on-site interaction. Mentor control, service, and mechanical technicians on building automation activities. Complete project and service documentation accurately. Provide solutions to improve building performance and resolve service issues, acting as a trusted advisor to customers.

How You Will Do It
  • Diagnose and repair complex control system malfunctions, requiring extensive knowledge of electronic/digital controls and software modifications.
  • Consult with customers, gather data, assess sites, and recommend retrofits, upgrades, or enhancements. Support sales with technical insights.
  • Manage assigned work efficiently, coordinate with project teams, and communicate issues promptly.
  • Create sketches, layouts, and proposals; assist with job layouts and bid preparations.
  • Communicate with customers about service progress, gather feedback, and promote system upgrades and additional work.
  • Follow safety standards, lead safety initiatives, and train technicians and customers in system operations.
  • Mentor technicians, support certification processes, and maintain technical proficiency through self-study and certifications.
  • Complete necessary documentation, assist with design and configuration of control systems, and support installation and commissioning activities.
  • Coordinate material orders, track deliveries, and ensure system functionality.
  • Participate in project meetings, provide recommendations for efficiency, and support upselling efforts.
Required
  • Minimum of 1 year of commercial controls troubleshooting experience in HVAC systems.
  • Vocational school graduate, associate's degree in a technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to install and service electronic control systems and HVAC equipment.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to explain technical info to diverse audiences.
  • Knowledge of control theory, building automation systems, and subsystems.
