Job summary

UNC Finance and Operations in Chapel Hill, NC seeks an HVAC Training & Safety Officer to develop and deliver safety and technical training for personnel working with HVAC, refrigeration, and related systems on a biotechnology and health care campus.

You will create lesson plans, teach hands-on sessions, monitor equipment, maintain training records, and drive compliance with EPA refrigerant management and state inspections.

Qualifications

• EPA 608 universal refrigerant certification (required).
• Must possess a valid North Carolina driver's license or ability to obtain one prior to hire.
• Experience designing and delivering safety and technical training.

Responsibilities

• Develops and delivers safety and technical training for HVAC staff and researchers.
• Creates lesson plans, training materials, schedules, and conducts hands-on instruction.
• Monitors safety equipment, maintains records, and evaluates trainee progress.
• Troubleshoots and repairs HVAC and related systems; supports boiler and controls maintenance.
