Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is seeking an HVAC Training Instructor to develop and deliver technical training for technicians, apprentices, and service personnel in the Lynchburg area.

You will blend classroom, virtual, and hands-on lab sessions to ensure safe installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems, with travel to NC/VA sites and a focus on building automation and energy efficiency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years hands-on HVAC installation, service, or maintenance experience.
• EPA Section 608 Certification.
• Associate's degree or technical certification in HVAC, Mechanical Systems, or related field.
• Previous teaching, training, or instructional experience.
• Experience with commercial HVAC systems and building automation systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and LMS.
• Strong presentation and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and update HVAC training curricula, lesson plans, presentations, and practical exercises.
• Deliver classroom, virtual, and hands-on technical training to technicians and apprentices.
• Teach HVAC principles, electrical systems, refrigeration cycles, controls, building automation, and energy efficiency practices.
• Assess participant understanding through tests, demonstrations, and skill evaluations.
• Stay current with advancements in HVAC technology and products; provide guidance to field staff.
