Daikin Applied Americas is seeking an HVAC Test Technician Intern for our Plymouth, MN on-site lab. You will support development programs, test and calibrate electromechanical equipment, and document results to meet standards.

Work includes instrument verification, lab safety, and collaboration with project teams, with opportunities to gain hands-on HVAC instrumentation experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• In a Vocational or Technical Degree program.
• 0-2 years of HVAC experience.
• Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing in line with procedures and ISO 17025.
• Conduct instrument verification and facility maintenance.
• Set up and operate laboratory equipment and instruments.
• Identify nonconformities and report abnormal testing.
• Keep a clean, compliant work area and follow EH&S policies.
• Communicate effectively with lab and project teams.
• Obtain forklift, scissor lift, or refrigerant certifications as needed.
• Set up test units per procedures and document results.

The HVAC Test Technician Intern will work in support of HVAC development programs, technician installs, tests, calibrates, and repairs electromechanical, and electronic measuring. This can also include supporting aspects of recording and indicating instruments and equipment for conformance to established standards. What You Will Do

• Perform laboratory testing activities in accordance with standard procedures, test requirements, and the ISO 17025 standard
• Perform scheduled instrument verification checks and periodic facility maintenance
• Set up and operate complex laboratory equipment and instruments
• Identify and report nonconformities and abnormal testing conditions
• Ensure standards, policies, procedures, and maintenance of a clean work area are upheld at all times
• Maintain a working knowledge of EH&S safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner
• Maintain effective communication with laboratory and project teams
• Obtain fork truck training/license, scissor lift training/license, or refrigerant handling certifications
• Perform test unit setup according to lab procedures and test request requirements
• Create records of testing activities and document them according to laboratory procedures

Minimum Qualifications

The typical hourly rate for this position ranges from $21.35 - $33.97 in Minnesota. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
