Daikin Applied in Plymouth, MN, seeks a talented HVAC Test Technician Intern to support development programs, test, calibrate, and repair electromechanical/electronic systems. On-site position offering exposure to ISO procedures and safety policies.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, enrollment in a vocational/technical program, and 0–2 years HVAC experience. Preferred candidates may hold forklift, man lift, universal card, and R410a certifications.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of HVAC experience or exposure is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing activities per procedures and ISO 17025.
• Conduct instrument verification checks and facility maintenance.
• Set up and operate complex lab equipment and instruments.
• Identify nonconformities and report abnormal test conditions.
• Maintain clean work areas and follow EH&S safety policies.
• Maintain communication with lab and project teams.
• Obtain forklift, scissor lift, or refrigerant handling certifications as required.
• Set up tests and document results per lab procedures.

The HVAC Test Technician Intern will work in support of HVAC development programs, technician installs, tests, calibrates, and repairs electromechanical, and electronic measuring. This can also include supporting aspects of recording and indicating instruments and equipment for conformance to established standards. What you will do:

• Perform laboratory testing activities in accordance with standard procedures, test requirements, and the ISO 17025 standard
• Perform scheduled instrument verification checks and periodic facility maintenance
• Set up and operate complex laboratory equipment and instruments
• Identify and report nonconformities and abnormal testing conditions
• Ensure standards, policies, procedures, and maintenance of a clean work area are upheld at all times
• Maintain a working knowledge of EH&S safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner
• Maintain effective communication with laboratory and project teams
• Obtain fork truck training/license, scissor lift training/license, or refrigerant handling certifications
• Perform test unit setup according to lab procedures and test request requirements
• Create records of testing activities and document them according to laboratory procedures

The typical hourly rate for this position ranges from $21.35 - $33.97 in Minnesota. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
