Job summary

Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC) seeks an HVAC Technician to join the Facilities team. The role reports to the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor and includes supervision of an Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Mechanic and other staff, with emphasis on maintenance and repair of HVAC systems. Three full-time, 12-month positions are available at $34.5183 per hour.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a regionally accredited or NYS-registered 2-year college with an Associate degree in air conditioning or refrigeration technology, or related field; five years of full-time paid experience
• Or completion of a technical school course in air conditioning or refrigeration technology with five years of related experience
• Or equivalent combination of training and experience

Responsibilities

• Directs, supervises and assists Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Mechanic;
• Inspects, maintains and repairs refrigeration systems and equipment;
• Cleans, lubricates and services pumps, fans, and refrigeration systems;
• Plans, executes and supervises a preventive maintenance program for HVAC systems;
• Monitors system performance and adjusts controls for efficiency;
• Installs and repairs wiring, switches and controls;
• Keeps logs and prepares operating manuals;
• Prepares specifications for HVAC contractor work
