Comfort-Air Engineering, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented HVAC technician to maintain and repair HVAC systems, diagnose issues, and guide customers to effective solutions. You will ensure safety, comfort, and customer satisfaction while performing on-demand service calls.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, a valid TX driver’s license, and be able to read schematics. EPA certificate is preferred, and you must pass a background check and drug test.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining and repairing ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipment.
  • Perform system diagnostics and propose solutions on demand service calls.
  • Identify maintenance risks on equipment.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on HVAC equipment.
  • Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC systems.
  • Inspect and repair systems and perform warranty services.
  • Perform emergency repairs promptly and efficiently.
  • Provide technical direction and on-the-job training.
  • Keep daily logs and records of maintenance actions.
  • Ensure compliance with appliance standards and safety regulations.

Education

Job description

We are looking to hire a detail-oriented HVAC technician to maintain and repair HVAC systems. The HVAC technician will be skilled in inspecting and repairing systems. You will guide and advise the customer to select the most appropriate solutions to fulfill their requirements.

To be successful in this role, customer satisfaction, safety, and comfort should be your top priority. Diagnose, maintain, and repair various types of HVAC equipment while providing excellent customer service.In addition, ideal candidates will be patient and have excellent organizational and troubleshooting skills.

HVAC Technician Responsibilities:
  • Maintaining and repairing ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipment.
  • Perform system diagnostics and propose solutions to customers while on-demand service calls.
  • Identifying maintenance risks on equipment.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on all types of HVAC equipment
  • Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC systems.
  • Inspecting and repairing systems and performing warranty services.
  • Performing emergency repairs promptly and efficiently.
  • Providing technical direction and on-the-job training.
  • Keeping daily logs and records of all maintenance functions.
  • Ensuring compliance with appliance standards and with Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Complying with service standards, work instructions, and customers' requirements.
  • Assisting with customers' queries.
Performance Indicators:

Certain key business indicators will measure the effectiveness of this position.

  1. Productivity factors come in at or under our historical average
  2. Customer compliments, feedback, and reviews.
  3. Reduction in the number of callbacks as a result of failure to understand the nature of a problem.
  4. Minimize unapplied time.
HVAC Technician Requirements:
  • High school diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent.
  • Valid TX driver's license.
  • EPA certificate (preferred).
  • Understanding of advanced principles of air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating.
  • Must pass a background check and drug test.
  • Proficient in balancing air and water treatment systems in line with HVAC protocols.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in reading schematics and work plans.
  • Ability to work after hours, over weekends, and on public holidays with short or no notice.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces.
  • Abides by company policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
