Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED; 2-year vocational degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial building HVAC services.
• Must be able to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
• Ability to calculate figures and perform basic algebra and geometry.
• Journeyman HVAC technician.
• Federal Universal Refrigerant Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Communicates, collaborates, and cooperates with colleagues, supervisors, and students.
• Maintains and repairs heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and related control systems.
• Establishes and follows preventive maintenance procedures for HVAC systems across the district facilities.
• Recommends supplies and equipment for purchase and maintains inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies.
• Compare prices and order parts from approved vendors.
• Coordinate with Energy Consultant/Control Vendors to resolve control problems.
• Walk through with Control Vendors to resolve issues.
• Be proficient with all equipment types, makes, and models.
