Job summary

Columbus City Schools in Columbus, Ohio is seeking an HVAC Technician (PROVISIONAL) to install, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot HVAC systems and control units under general supervision. This provisional appointment will create a new list, with interviews determined after reviewing applications.

Candidates must have three years of HVAC experience, a valid driver’s license, and EPA Section 608 Certification after probation.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of experience servicing or repairing HVAC equipment.
• Possession of an Apprenticeship Certificate in HVAC may substitute for two years of experience.
• Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license.
• Possession of a valid EPA Section 608 Certification (Universal) upon probation completion.

Responsibilities

• Operates HVAC equipment and related software to monitor and control systems.
• Installs, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs HVAC systems and equipment; diagnoses malfunctions and tests performance.
• Reads blueprints/schematic diagrams to locate and understand HVAC installations.
• Adjusts and repairs ducts, refrigerant circuits, and control systems; calibrates controls.
• Maintains written records of work performed and communicates with school personnel.
