Qualifications

• Three (3) years of commercial plumbing experience.
• Possession of a certificate of completion of apprenticeship in the plumbing trade may substitute for two years of experience.
• Valid motor vehicle operator's license required.
• State of Ohio Backflow Tester Certificate required by end of probation.
• Some positions may require State of Ohio Automatic Sprinkler and Standpipe Systems Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots, repairs, replaces, and maintains plumbing fixtures and devices.
• Maintains backflow devices, including fire systems.
• Troubleshoots, repairs, replaces, and maintains centrifugal water pumps and related parts.
• Maintains domestic water heaters.
• Maintains plumbing devices for steam or hot water boilers and heating systems.
• Participates in large scale plumbing projects such as remodels and replacements.
• Operates a vehicle to reach work sites.
• Reads blueprints and diagrams to locate systems.
• Uses a computer or mobile device to store, retrieve, and modify information and records.
• Communicates effectively with school personnel and others.
• Keeps written records of work assignments.
