Job description

Piatt Hospitality Services is a leading provider of hospitality management, committed to maintaining the highest standards across our portfolio of hotels in the Pittsburgh region. We are currently seeking a skilled and resourceful HVAC Technician to join our team and ensure optimal performance of our facilities' systems.

We are looking for a team member with solid hands-on experience in HVAC systems to provide preventative maintenance and service calls across multiple hotel properties. This role will serve as a key expert for diagnosing and resolving issues while supporting a wide range of HVAC, refrigeration, and hot-side kitchen equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative maintenance on packaged units, split systems, boilers, VRF systems, Dectron units, and PTACs.
  • Troubleshoot and repair HVACR systems, including hot-side kitchen equipment (e.g., fryers, steamers, and ovens).
  • Conduct diagnostics on electrical components (e.g., relays, capacitors) and perform tasks such as coil cleaning, refrigerant level checks, and filter replacement.
  • Ensure compliance with refrigerant management protocols, including transitioning from R-410A to low-GWP refrigerants such as R-32 or R-454B.
  • Support energy-efficient systems and building automation (BAS) technologies, where applicable.
  • Stay current on HVACR trends, decarbonization efforts, and emerging refrigerants through ongoing training.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on HVAC experience with a variety of systems.
  • EPA 608 Certification required; NATE Certification preferred.
  • Proficiency with troubleshooting commercial HVACR and kitchen equipment.
  • Familiarity with refrigerant technologies and current regulatory requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Commitment to continued education and staying current with industry advancements.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Flexibility to work on call as needed.
