Job summary

Qualifications

• Professional experience installing, servicing, maintaining, or managing residential and/or commercial HVAC systems.
• Previous teaching, training, apprenticeship instruction, or workforce development experience preferred.
• Strong commitment to SHSU Polytechnic College mission and student success.
• Demonstrated knowledge of HVAC installation, troubleshooting, electrical systems, refrigeration, heating and cooling equipment, controls, and building codes and safety standards.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in the HVAC program, delivering applied instruction on current industry practices and safety.
• Develop syllabi, lesson plans, activities, and assessments aligned with outcomes and industry standards.
• Provide constructive feedback and academic support to students; assist with curriculum improvements.
• Maintain current knowledge of HVAC technologies, codes, safety, and energy efficiency trends; collaborate with faculty.
