Be a transformational instructor at TSTC, guiding students in HVACR through applied learning and technology integration.
Responsibilities
- Deliver approved curriculum, content, and assessments in an applied learning environment.
- Facilitate activities and discussions that engage diverse learning styles, provide targeted guidance and mentorship.
- Interpret and administer assessments, and offer constructive feedback to support student growth.
- Integrate technology effectively to enrich educational experiences.
- Prepare and deliver high quality instruction, develop course syllabi and instructional plans, organize daily classes with innovative techniques.
- Maintain accurate student records, ensure safety, equipment security, and provide evaluation opportunities.
- Advise students, provide timely accurate information, collaborate with Office of Student Success on retention programs.
- Participate in recruitment events, contribute to program planning.
- Demonstrate willingness to serve, pleasant courteous behavior towards customers, colleagues, public contacts.
- Work flexible hours including evening, weekend, or summer assignments.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills, Knowledge, & Licenses
- Verifiable work experience as an HVACR technician.
- Ability to explain and demonstrate knowledge of basic and advanced electrical schematics, components, wiring circuits, control strategies.
- Refrigeration cycle, pressure-temperature relationships, refrigerants, heat transfer, temperature conversions.
- Service, troubleshoot, repair and maintain residential, light commercial, and industrial HVACR equipment.
- Reverse cycle, calculate COP, determine thermal balance point, differentiate between ASHP, WSHP, GHP, GSHP.
- Safe use of tools common to the HVACR industry.
- Cut, bend, flare, swage, solder, braze copper tubing.
- Installation of HVACR equipment including metal, flex, duct board duct systems.
- Load calculations, equipment selection, residential duct system design.
- Test, adjust, balance air and hydronic sides of HVAC/R systems.
- Psychrometric concepts affecting human comfort.
- Direct digital control systems and related operation of HVAC/R equipment.
- Troubleshooting tests to verify operation of HVAC controls.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge, & Licenses
- Verifiable work experience as a commercial HVACR technician.
- NATE certifications.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary Range: $68,400 – $78,661 + $6,000 retention bonus.
