Instructor – HVACR Technician

Salary
$68,400 – $78,661 per year, plus up to $6,000 retention bonus annually. Final offer based on qualifications and experience.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high‑quality instruction and facilitate the learning of students.
- Develop course syllabi, instructional plans, and organize daily classes using creative and innovative techniques.
- Facilitate activities and discussions that engage diverse learning styles, providing targeted guidance and mentorship.
- Interpret and administer assessments, offer constructive feedback, and support student growth.
- Integrate technology effectively to enrich educational experiences.
- Maintain accurate student records and uphold safety and security of instructional environments.
- Provide student advisement to ensure timely, accurate, and comprehensive information.
- Collaborate with the Office of Student Success on retention initiatives.
- Participate in recruitment events and support program planning.
- Demonstrate teamwork, courtesy, and service toward students, parents, employers, and the community.
- Perform other duties as assigned that support teaching and learning.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Certifications
- Verifiable work experience as an HVACR technician.
- Knowledge of basic and advanced electrical schematics, components, wiring circuits, control strategies, and control devices.
- Understanding of refrigeration cycle, pressure‑temperature relationships, refrigerants, heat transfer, and temperature conversions.
- Experience servicing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining residential, light commercial, and industrial HVACR equipment.
- Ability to work with reverse cycle systems, calculate COP, determine thermal balance points, and differentiate between ASHP, WSHP, GHP, and GSHP.
- Safe use of HVACR industry tools (cut, bend, flare, swage, solder, braze copper tubing).
- Installation of HVACR equipment, use of metal, flex, and duct board duct systems; load calculations, equipment selection, and residential duct system design.
- Testing, adjusting, and balancing air and hydronic sides of HVAC/R systems; psychrometric concepts affecting comfort.
- Experience with direct digital control systems and related HVAC/R equipment operation.
- Ability to conduct troubleshooting tests to verify HVAC control operation.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge, and Certifications
- Verifiable work experience as a commercial HVACR technician.
- Licensed or NATE certification.
Education and Experience
Verifiable and demonstrated experience is required.
