Job summary

The City of Dallas is hiring an HVAC Technician II to install, maintain, and repair HVAC equipment in City facilities. You will troubleshoot and calibrate systems, perform preventive maintenance, and support electrical and mechanical components to keep buildings comfortable and compliant.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
EPA 608 Universal Certification required.
Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
Availability to work varying shifts including nights, weekends, holidays, rotating shifts and overtime.

Responsibilities

Performs mechanical labor, repair, and maintenance for City of Dallas HVAC equipment.
Troubleshoots electrical components and pneumatic controls on HVAC refrigeration equipment.
Performs routine preventive maintenance on HVAC and refrigeration equipment; checks drains and repairs as needed.
Installs and repairs small electric motors in forced air systems; service drinking fountains and refrigerators.
Transfers knowledge to HVAC Apprentices and other trades helpers to ensure safe, efficient maintenance.
Maintains records of work orders and material requests; supports purchase requests.
