Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking an HVAC Technician 1 to deliver portable HVAC equipment, perform basic maintenance, and assist in the shop to keep gear ready for rental. You will train customers on safe operation and support the team on large jobs.

The role emphasizes professional communication, safe equipment handling, and willingness to work a variable schedule including some evenings/weekends. Competitive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years in a service-related role with customer interaction
• Must possess basic math skills
• Must be mechanically inclined
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
• Must be 21 years or older
• Available for some after-hours and weekend work during peak times

Responsibilities

• Communicates professionally with customers, managers and sales engineers to schedule deliveries, pick-ups and service calls
• Delivers and installs rented HVAC equipment and trains the operator on safe use
• Directs customers to sign paperwork and tracks serial numbers
• Troubleshoots operation, function, specifications and controls of equipment
• Operates company vehicle safely and follows safety policies
• Cleans and tests returned equipment, ensures operation and appearance
• Completes paperwork for deliveries, pickups and service calls
• Installs flexible gas hoses for propane and natural gas
• Checks gas connections safely
• Keeps records of in-stock and rented equipment
• Is on call for emergency service and rotates weekends/evenings
