Job summary

LAUKOA is seeking an HVAC Mechanic I to assist with maintenance, repair, and installation of HVAC systems at the FLETC Charleston facility. You will support senior technicians to ensure safe, efficient heating, cooling, and ventilation while gaining hands-on diagnostic experience.

Located in Charleston, SC, the role requires 1–3 years of HVAC experience, EPA 608 certification, and the ability to work as part of a team.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of HVAC service or maintenance experience.
• Proficiency with system controllers such as Trane Tracer Summit.
• EPA 608 Type I or II certification; Universal preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installation and maintenance of HVAC systems (air handlers, pumps, thermostats, ductwork).
• Perform routine filter changes, coil cleaning, lubrication, and preventative tasks.
• Aid diagnosis of mechanical/electrical HVAC issues under supervision.
• Conduct refrigerant recovery and charging under proper supervision.
• Maintain tools and work areas; follow safety standards and procedures.
• Record basic service data and report issues to lead or supervisor.
