Job summary

The City of Dayton is seeking an HVAC Technician I to maintain and repair heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems across city buildings. You will perform semi-skilled trades under supervision, focusing on boilers, chillers, pumps, and basic electrical/plumbing tasks.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, operating and repairing equipment, coordinating with supervisors and vendors, and supporting project plans and construction reviews.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with HVAC apprenticeship or trade certification.
• At least 3 years of experience in commercial/industrial HVAC repair and maintenance.
• EPA CFC Universal Certification required at appointment.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, install and repair a wide range of HVAC equipment in city buildings.
• Repair boilers, chillers, pumps; perform basic electrical and plumbing tasks.
• Perform preventative maintenance and energy management documentation.
• Coordinate with vendors/contractors and assist in project plans and construction reviews.
