Job summary

Daikin Applied in Atlanta, GA is seeking an HVAC Technician Helper to assist with diagnosing, repairing, and preventive maintenance of commercial and industrial HVAC systems on site.

You will support Technicians with routine tasks, document service activities, and communicate with customers while following safety policies. This entry‑level role offers hands‑on learning and a path to advanced HVAC responsibilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.

• EPA Universal Technician Certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintenance of commercial HVAC equipment with cleaning and part replacements.
• Assist with repairs and component/wiring replacements for HVAC systems.
• Support rebuilds of HVAC and applied equipment.
• Record detailed service information and communicate with technicians and customers.

In this role, you will be assisting in the diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance for commercial and industrial HVAC equipment. The responsibilities will increase based on exposure to tasks, ability to develop troubleshooting skill set, and consistent and accurate completion of assignments. The HVAC equipment you will be servicing includes but is not limited to large and small rooftop units, split systems, chillers, and boilers. Location:

Atlanta, GA. - Onsite

What You Will Do

• Assist in the maintenance of commercial HVAC equipment including logging machines, cleaning coils, brushing tubes, replacing filters, replacing belts and proper lubrication
• Assist with repair and replacement of defective equipment, components, or wiring related to fan coils, water source heat pumps, applied air handling units, rooftop units, cooling towers, and condenser tubes
• Assist with rebuilds HVAC & applied equipment
• Receive detailed direction while sharing the hands‑on task responsibilities with Technicians II, III, and Lead
• Demonstrate professionalism in appearance, verbal, and written communication
• Interact with customer by offering status reports of service before, during, and after each call
• Basic data entry and ability to navigate a computer or smart phone for use of email, internet, Microsoft applications and other tools as required
• Wear company uniform and required safety PPE, perform job hazard analysis
• Ensure standards, policies, procedures, and maintenance of a clean work area are always upheld
• Follow all OSHA and Daikin Applied safety policies and procedures

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Required license(s) and/or training card as required by local law district
• Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position

Preferred Qualifications

• Commercial HVAC Industry Experience
• Associates degree or equivalent from two‑year college or technical school, with a certificate in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning or currently enrolled in a program
• EPA approved Universal Technician Certification
• Current first aid / CPR card

The typical hourly pay rate for this position ranges from $14.52 - $23.13 in Georgia. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of pre‑employment requirements, including verification of employment history, education, background screening, and drug testing where permitted by law. Safety‑sensitive positions may require cannabis (marijuana) testing. All testing and employment decisions will comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
