Job summary

Daikin Applied seeks a full-time HVAC Service Technician I in Knoxville, TN. You will work on rooftop units, chillers, boilers, and other equipment, with hands-on training and opportunities to learn through in-person, online, and on-the-job programs. Required: High School Diploma or GED; valid driver’s license; 0–2 years of related experience.

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate's degree or HVAC certificate preferred.
• 0-2 years of related work experience.
• EPA Universal Technician Certification preferred.
• OSHA 10 within 90 days of hire (onboarding provides training).
• Current first aid/CPR card preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist and perform maintenance of commercial HVAC equipment including logging machines, cleaning coils, replacing filters and belts, and lubrication.
• Assist in repair and replacement of defective equipment and wiring for fan coils, heat pumps, AHUs, rooftops, and boilers.
• Inspect equipment to identify problems to prevent breakdowns or callbacks.
• Assist with warranty service by testing systems and verifying functionality.
• Record billing, inventory, timecards, and other reports promptly.
• Explain technical information to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Participate in training through regional technicians and Daikin Learning; maintain required certifications.
• Maintain a clean work area and follow safety policies.
• Follow OSHA and Daikin safety policies and procedures.

Location: Knoxville, TN. - Onsite

Your Responsibilities

• Assist and perform maintenance of commercial HVAC equipment including logging machines, cleaning coils, brushing tubes, replacing filters, replacing belts and proper lubrication
• Assist in the repair and replacement of defective equipment, components, or wiring related to fan coils, water source heat pumps, applied air handling units, rooftop units, cooling towers, and condenser tubes
• Maintain and inspect equipment to identify potential problems to prevent premature and unexpected breakdowns or callbacks
• Assist with warranty service application by inspecting and testing systems to verify functionality of HVAC equipment and components
• Record and report billing, inventory, timecards, technician tip reports, and other articles as required and in a timely manner
• Interact with customers by offering status reports of service before, during, and after each call Explain technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Participate in available training through regional technician trainers, off‑site learning modules, and Daikin Learning. Maintain all required certifications and continue to develop new skill sets
• Ensure standards, policies, procedures, and maintenance of a clean work area are always upheld
• Follow all OSHA and Daikin Applied safety policies and procedures

Your Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Associate's degree or technical school with an HVAC certificate (preferred)
• 0-2 years of related work experience
• Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record
• Rotational Emergency Call Support availability as required
• Required license(s) and/or training card as required by local law district
• Commercial HVAC industry experience (preferred)
• EPA approved Universal Technician Certification (preferred)
• OSHA 10 within 90 days of hire (Daikin provides this training during onboarding process)
• Current first aid / CPR card (preferred)

The typical hourly pay rate for this position ranges from $20.80 - $ 33.27 in Tennessee. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
