Job summary

Daikin Applied in Greensboro, NC is seeking a full-time HVAC Service Technician II to service a range of commercial and industrial equipment, including rooftop units, chillers, boilers, and heat pumps. You’ll receive comprehensive training through in-person, online, and on-the-job programs and work with cutting-edge technologies.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, repairs, warranty service, mentoring Level I technicians, and ongoing certification upkeep.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associates Degree or HVAC certification preferred.
• 3+ years HVAC experience required.
• Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
• EPA Universal Technician Certification preferred.
• OSHA 10 certification preferred.
• First aid/CPR card preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance of commercial HVAC equipment, including cleaning coils and replacing filters.
• Repair and replace defective equipment and wiring on HVAC systems such as fan coils, heat pumps and rooftops.
• Inspect equipment to prevent breakdowns and callbacks.
• Perform warranty service inspections to verify system functionality.
• Lead Level I technicians with hands-on troubleshooting guidance.
• Assist with centrifugal rebuilds under supervision of senior techs.
• Record billing, inventory, timecards and reports promptly.
• Explain technical information to customers and provide status updates.
• Participate in regional training and maintain required certifications.

Location: Greensboro, NC - Onsite

Your Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance of commercial HVAC equipment including logging machines, cleaning coils, brushing tubes, replacing filters, replacing belts and proper lubrication
• Repair and replacement of defective equipment, components, or wiring related to fan coils, water source heat pumps, applied air handling units, rooftop units, cooling towers, and condenser tubes
• Maintain and inspect equipment to identify potential problems to prevent premature and unexpected breakdowns or callbacks
• Perform warranty service application by inspecting and testing systems to verify functionality of HVAC equipment and components
• Direct Level I technicians through hands‑on demonstrations of all necessary steps to troubleshoot and repair equipment
• Introduction to centrifugal rebuilds from Lead and Level III technicians
• Record and report billing, inventory, timecards, technician tip reports, and other articles as required and in a timely manner
• Interact with customers by offering status reports of service before, during, and after each call Explain technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Participate in available training through regional technician trainers, off‑site learning modules, and Daikin Learning. Maintain all required certifications and continue to develop new skill sets
• Ensure standards, policies, procedures, and maintenance of a clean work area are always upheld
• Follow all OSHA and Daikin Applied safety policies and procedures

Your Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Associates Degree or technical school HVAC certification (preferred)
• 3+ years of experience in HVAC or related industry
• Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
• Required license(s) and/or training card as required by local law district
• Rotational Emergency Call Support availability as required
• EPA approved Universal Technician Certification (preferred)
• OSHA 10 certification (preferred)
• Current first aid / CPR card (preferred)

The typical hourly pay rate for this position ranges from $27.60 - $44.29 in NC. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
