C.D. Shanahan’s HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical & Remodeling, LLC is seeking an HVAC Service Technician to join a motivated, career‑driven team in Springfield, VA.

You will diagnose, troubleshoot, service, and repair residential and light commercial systems, working on ACs, heat pumps, furnaces, and related equipment. We reward hard work with competitive hourly pay, commissions, and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• Experience in residential or light commercial HVAC service preferred.
• EPA Section 608 certification required.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company vehicle insurance requirements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development.
• Familiarity with digital service software is a plus.
• Additional HVAC certifications and manufacturer training are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain, service, and repair residential and light commercial HVAC systems.
• Work on air conditioners, heat pumps, gas furnaces, air handlers, boilers, mini-splits, and related equipment.
• Perform thorough inspections and accurately identify equipment deficiencies.
• Explain findings and present customers with appropriate repair, maintenance, and replacement options.
• Educate homeowners on system performance, safety, efficiency, and preventative maintenance.
• Identify opportunities for maintenance agreements, indoor air quality improvements, and system replacements when appropriate.
• Complete accurate service notes, photographs, equipment information, and required checklists.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, management, and fellow technicians.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked company vehicle.
• Follow company procedures, manufacturer specifications, and applicable safety requirements.
• Take ownership of assigned calls from arrival through completion, including customer communication and proper job closeout.
