CBRE is seeking an HVAC Engineer to support a high-profile aerospace manufacturing client in East Hartford, CT. You will operate, maintain, and optimize critical HVAC and related systems within a mission-critical production environment.

This role sits in CBRE's ETS group, focusing on preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and system optimization to enhance reliability, safety, and energy efficiency across a large industrial campus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus 4-5 years related experience, or combination of experience and education.
• D2 license required to operate programmable control and related systems.
• Ability to interpret drawings, schematics, and codes for HVAC equipment.
• Proficient in MS Office and basic financial calculations related to maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Assign tasks to team members and ensure timely completion.
• Install, repair, calibrate, and maintain HVAC/R control systems and related instruments.
• Inspect equipment for proper operation and code compliance.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and determine best modification actions.
• Share knowledge and mentor others within the team.

About the Role:

As an HVAC Engineer with CBRE, you will play a pivotal role supporting a high-profile aerospace manufacturing client in East Hartford, CT. In this position, you'll be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and optimization of critical mechanical and electrical systems that support a complex, mission-critical production environment.

Your expertise will directly impact facility performance, operational reliability, safety, and occupant comfort across a large-scale industrial campus.

This role sits within CBRE's Engineering & Technical Services (ETS) group, a team dedicated to delivering best-in-class preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and system optimization for sophisticated building infrastructure and equipment.

• Day Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

What You'll Do:

• Assign tasks to team members. Ensure all duties are done in a timely manner.
• Install, repair, adjust, service and maintain electric or pneumatic control systems used for building heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems and equipment, including calibration of related instruments, gauges, and control components.
• Inspect and conduct ongoing maintenance on building HVAC equipment to ensure proper operation of equipment and compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and work safety.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and identify the best course of action for equipment modifications.
• Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles and procedures to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
• Coach others and share in-depth knowledge of own job discipline and broad knowledge of several job disciplines within the function.
• Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Work to build consensus and convince others to reach an agreement.
• Impact a range of customer, operational, project or service activities within own team and other related teams.
• Work within broad guidelines and policies.
• Explain difficult or sensitive information.

What You'll Need:

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Prior shift manager or supervisory experience preferred.
• D2 License required
• Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs, and the ability to carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
• Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
• Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
• Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.
• Sophisticated math skills. Ability to calculate mildly complex figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.
