Job summary

CBRE in East Hartford, CT is seeking an HVAC Engineer to support a mission-critical aerospace production campus. You will manage operation, maintenance and optimization of HVAC and related systems to improve reliability, safety, and occupant comfort on a large industrial site.

You will lead maintenance activities, troubleshoot complex issues, and drive energy efficiency improvements while ensuring compliance with codes and CBRE standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and 4–5 years of related experience
• D2 License required
• Strong math and analytical skills
• Proficient in MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook)
• Willingness to supervise teammates and lead by example

About theRole:

As an HVACEngineer with CBRE, you will play a pivotal role supporting a high-profileaerospace manufacturing client in East Hartford, CT. In this position, you’llbe responsible for the operation, maintenance, and optimization of criticalmechanical and electrical systems that support a complex, mission-criticalproduction environment.

Yourexpertise will directly impact facility performance, operational reliability,safety, and occupant comfort across a large-scale industrial campus.

This rolesits within CBRE’s Engineering & Technical Services (ETS) group, a teamdedicated to delivering best-in-class preventive maintenance, troubleshooting,and system optimization for sophisticated building infrastructure andequipment.

WhatYou’ll Do:

• Assign tasks to team members. Ensure all duties are done in a timely manner.
• Install, repair, adjust, service and maintain electric or pneumatic control systems used for building heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems and equipment, including calibration of related instruments, gauges, and control components.
• Inspect and conduct ongoing maintenance on building HVAC equipment to ensure proper operation of equipment and compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and work safety.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and identify the best course of action for equipment modifications.
• Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles and procedures to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
• Coach others and share in-depth knowledge of own job discipline and broad knowledge of several job disciplines within the function.
• Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Work to build consensus and convince others to reach an agreement.
• Impact a range of customer, operational, project or service activities within own team and other related teams.
• Work within broad guidelines and policies.
• Explain difficult or sensitive information.

WhatYou’ll Need:

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Prior shift manager or supervisory experience preferred.
• D2 License required
• Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs, and the ability to carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
• Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
• Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
• Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.
• Sophisticated math skills. Ability to calculate mildly complex figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.
