This full-time role operates 2:30 PM–11:00 PM with on-call weekends; ideal candidates have healthcare HVAC experience and a valid certification, with a strong mechanical aptitude and safety focus.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of HVAC technician experience, preferably in healthcare.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspection, preventive maintenance, service, repair and installation of HVAC systems.
• Respond to urgent facility calls and environmental issues.
• Ensure compliance with Joint Commission and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain clean, safe work area and use PPE as required.
• Coordinate with supervisors and other teams for shutdowns and projects.

As an HVAC Technician at Martin North Hospital, you willperform inspection, preventive maintenance, service, repair and installation of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and related control systems, all whileutilizingyourknowledge of fundamental HVAC systems.You will also respond to urgent facility calls, equipment malfunctions and environmental issues, ensuringcompliance withJointCommission and otherregulatoryrequirements. HVAC Techniciansensure a safe,functionaland comfortable environment for patients,familiesand caregivers. Properlymaintainedequipment and building systems reduce delays in care, prevent safetyrisksand support a positive patient experience.

A caregiver in this position worksMonday-Friday from 2:30PM – 11:00PM, including rotating on-call weekends every6 weeks.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Perform preventive maintenance of heating, ventilation, air conditioning,refrigerationand related control systems.
• Monitor and evaluate facility and central energy plant environment for deficiencies, safety hazards, brokenequipmentand aesthetic improvements.
• Perform repairs and improvements according to Federal and State codes and standards, local and State buildingcodesand manufacturer’s specifications.
• Maintain clean,orderlyand safe workarea.
• Useproper warning signs and safety equipment to ensure the safety of others.
• Monitor andreportabnormal operation of central energy plant equipment.
• Use proper hand or power tools to complete tasks and use personal protective equipment when necessary.
• Routinelypickup work orders inPlantOperations department and complete work ordersin a timely manner.
• Report to Supervisor orDirectorany problems or items requiring follow up for the following shift.
• Respond to emergency situationsin a timely mannerand takeappropriate action.
• Notify the Supervisor or Director when emergencies,deficienciesand safety hazards are identified.
• Assistoutside contractors on site for equipment and building repairs.
• Estimate time and materialsrequiredon work orders.
• Maintain necessary parts and tools to complete tasks.
• Notify Supervisor when parts and supplies are needed.
• Coordinate shut down activities with Plant Operations Supervisor.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• High School or equivalent
• Three to fiveyears of experienceas a HVAC Tech
• Fundamental mechanical ability
• Prior experience in a healthcare setting

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• HVAC Mechanic Certification

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods
• Ability to be mobile for extended periods of time Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information
• Ability to move/transport items weighing up to or more than 100 pounds (lbs.)
• Ability to move/transport equipment weighing up to or more than 100 pounds (lbs.)
• Ability to move/transport carts weighing up to or more than 100 pounds (lbs.)
• Ability to inspect equipment
• Ability to install, repair and maintain systems, equipment, fixtures and/or structures
• May be exposed to communicable diseases
