HVAC Technicians - Multiple Career Opportunities Available $18-$35/hr | Installation, Start-Up & Service Roles

TOPS Staffing has partnered with a growing residential HVAC contractor to hire multiple HVAC Technicians for several divisions of their business. Whether you're looking to start your HVAC career or you're an experienced Service Technician, we currently have opportunities that fit a variety of experience levels. Current openings range from entry-level installation roles to experienced service technicians, with pay ranging from $18-$35/hour based on experience and position.

Position 1: HVAC Installation Technician (Entry to Mid-Level)

Pay: $18-$25/hr (Based on Experience)

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow within the HVAC trade. You'll work alongside experienced installers installing complete HVAC systems in newly constructed residential homes.

Responsibilities: Install residential HVAC systems in new construction homes. Install ductwork, air handlers, furnaces, and related components. Read basic blueprints and layout drawings. Use hand and power tools safely and efficiently. Work with an experienced installation crew while developing your trade skills.

Great opportunity for candidates with construction, plumbing, electrical, or mechanical experience who want to build a long-term HVAC career.

Position 2: HVAC Start-Up / Finish Technician

Pay: Approximately $25/hr

Perfect for technicians with 3+ years of HVAC experience who enjoy working independently. This position takes over after the rough installation crew has completed their work. You'll complete the final installation of the HVAC system in newly constructed homes before the homeowner moves in.

Responsibilities: Install outdoor condensers and complete refrigerant line connections. Install thermostats, registers, and final HVAC components. Complete electrical wiring connections. Start up and commission HVAC systems. Perform airflow testing and system adjustments. Verify systems are operating properly before home turnover.

This is not a customer-facing position. You'll work in newly built, unoccupied homes and will not be interacting with homeowners. After training, technicians typically work independently in a company vehicle.

Position 3: Residential HVAC Service Technician

Pay: $25-$35/hr (Based on Experience)

We're seeking experienced HVAC Service Technicians with 3+ years of residential service experience. This is a traditional residential service position performing diagnostics, repairs, maintenance, and troubleshooting of HVAC equipment.

Responsibilities: Diagnose and repair residential HVAC systems. Perform preventive maintenance and service calls. Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical system issues. Recommend repair or replacement options when appropriate. Provide professional customer service while working in occupied homes.

Unlike many service companies, you'll primarily work in newer residential homes with modern HVAC equipment, providing a cleaner and more efficient work environment than servicing older systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Installation Technician: Mechanical aptitude and construction or trade experience preferred
• Start-Up Technician & Service Technician: 3+ years of residential HVAC experience required
• EPA Certification is preferred
• Ability to use hand and power tools
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record
• Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
