Qualifications

  • EPA Universal Certification required.
  • Knowledge of wiring schematics and load calculations; comfortable with mobile devices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Strong problem-solving and independent troubleshooting.
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team player who accepts constructive feedback.
  • Able to lift 25 lbs regularly.
  • Willing to work overtime when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to homes and businesses as scheduled daily.
  • Install new heating, cooling and ventilation systems.
  • Inspect HVAC systems for safety and efficiency while performing preventative maintenance.
  • Consult with customers to determine needs and solutions.
  • Conduct performance tests with specialized tools.
  • Troubleshoot and repair current HVAC issues.
  • Maintain records of appointments and payments.
  • Keep inventory of HVAC equipment and resources.

Job description

GVEC is looking to hire you, an experienced HVAC Technician, to help deliver the unexpected through high-quality service and a commitment to continuous improvement. As an HVAC Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, repairing, and replacing residential heating and cooling systems, ensuring comfort, safety, and reliability for our customers. The ideal HVAC Technician will bring hands‑on experience, strong technical knowledge, and a professional, customer‑focused approach while contributing to the growth and success of the department and the organization. This role is well‑suited for professionals with demonstrated experience in residential HVAC systems, preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and equipment replacement.

Your Pay

The minimum starting pay for this role is $26.00/hr. Pay is structured around a performance‑based model tied to production metrics. A monthly bonus is available based on technician profitability. An additional bonus is available that is tied to organizational benchmarks set forth annually. Pay will be determined by skills, qualifications and experience.

How You’ll Help
  • Travel to homes and businesses as scheduled on a daily basis
  • Install new heating, cooling and ventilation systems
  • Inspect HVAC systems for safety and effectiveness while performing preventative maintenance to ensure optimal performance and longevity
  • Perform consultations with customers, determine customer needs and solution methods
  • Conduct performance tests with specialized tools
  • Troubleshoot and repair current HVAC system issues
  • Keep record of customer appointments and payment transactions, including invoices
  • Maintain accurate inventory of all equipment and HVAC resources
Experience/Skills You’ll Need
  • Must have or be able to obtain Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Universal Certification
  • Knowledge of wiring schematics, load calculations and a solid understanding of working with mobile technology‑based devices
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and confidently
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills, with the ability to effectively troubleshoot minor issues independently
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively evaluate and manage conflicting priorities in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment
  • Team player with the resolve to provide and take constructive criticism that helps evolve the team
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs. on a consistent basis
  • Willing to work overtime as needed
Preferred Experience/Skills
  • 2-3 years of experience in installation/service of residential heating and cooling equipment
  • Current State of Texas HVAC License
  • North American Technician Excellence Certification
