Job summary

S. I. Goldman Company, Inc. is seeking an experienced HVAC Technician to join our team in Orlando.

The role involves start-up, preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs across commercial and industrial HVAC systems. You will read blueprints, work with 24V controls, and coordinate with vendors. A strong safety mindset and teamwork are essential for success. The position is full-time, hourly, non-exempt, with travel to various sites.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years of relevant HVAC experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent; HVAC technical or vocational training preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of HVAC systems, including electrical and refrigeration components.
• EPA 608 Type II or Universal Certification preferred, OSHA 10-Hour training.

Responsibilities

• Perform start-up of HVAC systems and equipment per specs, codes and safety requirements.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and inspections for optimal performance.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair HVAC system issues.
• Work with compressors, motors, fans, thermostats, pumps, and other components.
• Test and calibrate HVAC systems to verify proper operation.
• Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams and schematics.

Our HVAC Technicians perform equipment start-up, preventive maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on a broad range of HVAC equipment. What You'll Do

As an HVAC Technician, you will:

• Perform start-up of HVAC systems and equipment in accordance with specifications, codes, and safety requirements.
• Perform preventive maintenance and equipment inspections to help ensure optimal performance.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair HVAC system issues.
• Work with compressors, motors, fans, thermostats, pumps, and other HVAC components.
• Test and calibrate HVAC systems to verify proper operation.
• Troubleshoot electrical and refrigeration components.
• Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, basic wiring diagrams, and schematics.
• Work with 24V controls and BMS/BAS systems.
• Identify opportunities for equipment upgrades and energy-efficiency improvements.
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers when parts or equipment are needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance, repairs, and service performed.
• Work collaboratively with customers, vendors, and other members of the S.I. Goldman team.
• Perform work in accordance with applicable codes, industry standards, and company safety requirements.

What We're Looking For

• Minimum of three (3) years of relevant HVAC experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent; HVAC technical or vocational training preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of HVAC systems, including electrical and refrigeration components.
• General knowledge of industrial chiller plants, electric motors, and pumps.
• General knowledge of 24V controls and BMS/BAS systems.
• Basic understanding of electrical principles, including AC power, current, single-phase and three-phase circuits, and series and parallel circuits.
• Ability to use a multimeter to measure voltage, current, and resistance.
• Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve HVAC problems efficiently.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
• Experience safely operating equipment such as scissor lifts, forklifts, and lulls.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to take initiative while maintaining high standards for quality and safety.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• OSHA 10-Hour training.
• EPA 608 Type II or Universal Certification preferred.
