Job summary

Consolidated Safety Services (CSS) is seeking an HVAC Technician in Kent, Washington for field service work on aerospace campus systems. The role covers preventative and reactive maintenance of heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment, with exposure to chillers, split systems and packaged units.

Ideal candidates will have 3–5 years of HVAC experience, EPA Universal Certification, and the ability to work in a team environment while following safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years experience with HVAC services, incl. industrial cooling systems (water-cooled & air-cooled chillers, split systems, packaged systems)
• General maintenance experience
• Knowledge of HVAC concepts, practices and procedures

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and service on heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems including chillers and packaged systems
• General facility maintenance
• Install new units or replacement parts per specs and safety guidelines
• Follow established guidelines and work under supervision
• Provide maintenance and basic repairs for HVAC systems
• Operate company vehicle and use provided tools
• Perform preventive maintenance per manufacturer schedules
• Communicate effectively with customers and building staff
• Maintain up-to-date equipment files and maintenance logs
• Respond to building emergencies as directed

Job description

CSS is hiring a HVAC Technician in Kent, Washington. This is a field service technician type of position. Providing both HVAC Preventative and Reactive Maintenance activities on an aerospace campus.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and service repairs on heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems. This includes industrial cooling systems water-cooled and air-cooled chillers, split systems, packaged systems, and etcetera.
• General facility maintenance
• Install new units or replacement parts for existing units according to specifications and established safety guidelines
• Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
• Work under immediate supervision
• Provide maintenance and basic service repairs for heating, air conditioning, and ventilating systems in an effective and efficient manner
• Company vehicle and tools provided to complete service
• Perform preventive maintenance per the manufacturer's schedule and maintenance instruction manual
• Interact and cooperate effectively with customer, contracted services personnel, and building staff
• Must be able to perform in a highly integrated team environment
• Assist in maintaining up-to-date files, equipment specifications, and maintenance logs as it pertains to HVAC and mechanical equipment
• Respond to building emergencies as directed

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years experience with HVAC services. This includes industrial cooling systems water-cooled and air-cooled chillers, split systems, packaged systems, etc.
• Experience in general maintenance
• Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the HVAC and maintenance fields
• Must be able to operate hand and power tools, and read digital meters and voltage testers
• Understand basic electrical and wiring in a commercial building setting
• Must be able to work at heights - lifts, scaffolding, and ladders
• Possess good written and verbal communication skills
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk
• The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds to 100 pounds. The employee will work both in/outdoors.
• Prior work experience in an industrial environment is a plus

Educational Background

• High School Diploma or equivalent combined with relevant work experience
• Must possess valid EPA Universal Certification
• May be required to meet additional certifications in field
