Job summary

CSS is hiring an HVAC Technician in Kent, WA to perform preventive and reactive maintenance on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems across an aerospace campus. You will install, service, and troubleshoot various systems while following safety guidelines and maintaining logs.

The role requires 3-5 years of HVAC experience, EPA Universal Certification, and the ability to work with a team in a field service environment. A company vehicle and tools are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with relevant work experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and service repairs on HVAC systems including chillers and split systems.
• Handle general facility maintenance and installations per specs.
• Work under supervision and follow safety guidelines.
• Provide preventive maintenance per manufacturer schedules.
• Maintain equipment logs and specifications.
• Respond to building emergencies as directed.
• Coordinate with customers, services staff, and building personnel.
• Operate tools and read digital meters and voltage testers.

Job description

CSS is hiring a HVAC Technician in Kent, Washington. This is a field service technician type of position. Providing both HVAC Preventative and Reactive Maintenance activities on an aerospace campus.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and service repairs on heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems. This includes industrial cooling systems water-cooled and air-cooled chillers, split systems, packaged systems, and etcetera.
• General facility maintenance
• Install new units or replacement parts for existing units according to specifications and established safety guidelines
• Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
• Work under immediate supervision
• Provide maintenance and basic service repairs for heating, air conditioning, and ventilating systems in an effective and efficient manner
• Company vehicle and tools provided to complete service
• Perform preventive maintenance per the manufacturer's schedule and maintenance instruction manual
• Interact and cooperate effectively with customer, contracted services personnel, and building staff
• Must be able to perform in a highly integrated team environment
• Assist in maintaining up-to-date files, equipment specifications, and maintenance logs as it pertains to HVAC and mechanical equipment
• Respond to building emergencies as directed

Qualifications

• 3-5 years experience with HVAC services. This includes industrial cooling systems water-cooled and air-cooled chillers, split systems, packaged systems, etc.
• Experience in general maintenance
• Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the HVAC and maintenance fields
• Must be able to operate hand and power tools, and read digital meters and voltage testers
• Understand basic electrical and wiring in a commercial building setting
• Must be able to work at heights - lifts, scaffolding, and ladders
• Possess good written and verbal communication skills
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk
• The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds to 100 pounds. The employee will work both in/outdoors.
• Prior work experience in an industrial environment is a plus

Educational Background

• High School Diploma or equivalent combined with relevant work experience
• Must possess valid EPA Universal Certification
• May be required to meet additional certifications in field
