Job summary

KODIAK Construction Recruiting & Staffing is seeking an experienced HVAC Pipe Installer for active commercial projects in Grand Rapids, MI. The role focuses on pipefitting, system installations, and adherence to safety on fast-paced job sites.

You will read blueprints, cut, thread, solder, braze, and pressure-test piping networks, collaborating with trade teams to deliver reliable HVAC infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in pipefitting or mechanical HVAC installation.
• Familiarity with mechanical systems and HVAC principles.
• Proficiency with threading, soldering, brazing, and other pipefitting techniques.

Responsibilities

• Install piping systems including hydronics, refrigerant lines, gas piping, and condensate drains.
• Interpret blueprints and drawings to determine layouts and specs.
• Cut, thread, groove, press, solder, and braze pipes.
• Test systems for leaks using pressure gauges and related equipment.
• Inspect and troubleshoot pipe installations on active job sites.
• Collaborate with other trades and supervisors; follow safety protocols.

$22 - $40ph Pay Based on Experience

About The Role

A well-established mechanical contractor is seeking an experienced HVAC Pipe Installer to support new commercial construction projects. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with pipefitting and mechanical system installations, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced, safety-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Install a variety of piping systems including hydronics, refrigerant lines, gas piping, and condensate drains.
• Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine proper pipe layouts and installation specifications.
• Cut, thread, groove, press, solder, and braze pipes
• Test systems for leaks using pressure gauges or related equipment
• Inspect and troubleshoot pipe installations as needed
• Collaborate with other trades and supervisors on active job sites
• Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, hazard-free work area

What You Bring

• Minimum 2 years of experience in pipefitting or mechanical HVAC installation
• Familiarity with mechanical systems and HVAC principles
• Proficiency with threading, soldering, brazing, and other pipefitting techniques
• Ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
• Reliable transportation and a commitment to safety
