KODIAK Construction Recruiting & Staffing seeks a licensed Journeyman Plumber for commercial/industrial projects in Grand Rapids, MI. You’ll install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems while coordinating with HVAC and piping crews to meet code requirements.

The role demands 3–5 years of experience, a Michigan Journeyman license, and the ability to work in field conditions. Competitive hourly pay and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

Valid Michigan Journeyman license required.
3–5 years of commercial/industrial plumbing experience.
Proficient with copper, PVC/CPVC, cast iron, soldering and brazing.
Knowledge of backflow systems, grease traps and commercial water heaters.
Able to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders and work in confined or wet spaces.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Must pass drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

Read and interpret blueprints and layout drawings.
Install piping, valves, fittings, fixtures, and other plumbing components.
Troubleshoot and repair leaks, clogs and faulty fixtures.
Conduct preventive maintenance on plumbing systems.
Ensure full compliance with local, state, and national plumbing codes.
Collaborate with supervisors and other trades for scheduling and materials.
Accurately complete daily timesheets, material logs and as-builts.

About The Role

We’re seeking a licensed Journeyman Plumber to join our commercial mechanical team in the Grand Rapids area. In this role, you’ll install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems in commercial and industrial settings — working closely with HVAC and piping crews to deliver high-quality installations that meet all code requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Read and interpret blueprints and layout drawings
Install piping, valves, fittings, fixtures, and other plumbing components
Troubleshoot and repair leaks, clogs, and faulty fixtures
