Job summary

Superior Essex is seeking a maintenance technician to perform repairs and preventive maintenance on commercial HVAC systems and industrial chillers in our manufacturing facility. The role requires EPA Universal certification and hands-on experience with testing and repairing chillers, AC systems, and electrical components.

The ideal candidate will adhere to LOTO procedures, operate machine tools as needed, and maintain records and spare parts inventory while executing root-cause repair

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus related experience or training; trade school diploma or equivalent possible.
• NATE, ASHRAE, OSHA certifications enhance qualification.
• Experience in HVAC repair and preventative maintenance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on commercial HVAC systems and industrial chillers.
• Troubleshoot and repair refrigerated water chillers and AC systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical components on HVAC equipment.
• Follow LOTO policy and safety procedures.
• Maintain records and inventory of spare parts; order parts as needed.
• Test equipment performance and use tools to complete repairs.

Job description

Under general direction from the Maintenance management team, perform repairs and preventive maintenance to commercial HVAC systems and industrial chillers in manufacturing plant. Must have the following qualifications.

Description of essential job functions:

• EPA Universal certification.
• At least 3 years’ experience in HVAC repair and troubleshooting.
• Troubleshoots and repairs refrigerated water chillers.
• Troubleshoots and repairs AC systems.
• Troubleshoots and repairs electrical components on HVAC equipment.
• Understands and adheres to LOTO policy.
• Starts devices to test their performance.
• Uses machine tools as necessary to perform repairs.
• Maintains records and inventory of spare parts.
• Researches repair parts and initiates requisitions.
• Uses sound troubleshooting techniques to determine “root cause” solutions.
• Performs all other tasks as necessary to maintain plant equipment and property.
