Job summary

Consolidated Safety Services (CSS) on Merritt Island, FL seeks an experienced industrial HVAC technician. The role covers maintenance and repair of complex HVAC systems, chillers, exhaust systems, and building automation, with emphasis on safety and compliance.

The candidate should have 10+ years in industrial HVAC, EPA Universal Certification, a Journeyman license, and BAS experience. The position is full-time and on-site with potential for advanced diagnostics and system optimization.

Qualifications

  • Stand and walk for long hours; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; routinely lift and/or move up to 25 to 100 pounds

Responsibilities

  • Performs maintenance and service repairs on complex industrial low pressure HVAC systems including chillers, cooling towers, VFDs, motors, compressors, and pumps
  • Maintains facility exhaust systems including FEFs, VFDs, and exhaust ducting
  • Installs, troubleshoots, repairs HVAC and exhaust systems according to manufacturer specs and safety guidelines
  • Advances working knowledge of hot water, water treatment, and equipment control systems
  • Performs motor, pump, and compressor rebuilds, alignments, and diagnostics on chiller and boiler systems
  • Detects system insufficiencies, troubleshoots to an improved/nominal state
  • Performs leak detection, repair, recovery, and recharging tasks
  • Installs and repairs VFDs, valves, piping, exhaust, and duct work
  • Performs electrical work on related equipment; supports automated control systems calibration and optimization
  • Interacts with customers, contracted services, and building staff; works in a highly integrated team environment
  • Assists in maintaining updated files, equipment specs, and maintenance logs for mechanical equipment
  • Responds to system emergencies as directed
  • Complies with safety procedures and company policies

Job description

Responsibilities:


Performs maintenance and service repairs on complex industrial low pressure HVAC
systems to include chillers, cooling towers, VFD's, motors, compressors, chilled and hot
water pumps, piping, and valves. Perform maintenance and service repair of facility exhaust
systems to include FEF's, VFD's, and exhaust ducting. Install, troubleshoot, and/or repair
systems according to manufacturer's specifications and established safety guidelines.
Advance working knowledge of hot water systems, water treatment systems, and
equipment control systems.

Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent and HVAC Journeyman license. Experience
with common-used concepts, practices, and procedures in HVAC-R. The specific
responsibilities for this position include:

Provide advanced maintenance and repair service, and technical operations of HVAC
and Exhaust systems in support of industrial HVAC equipment and related systems.

Perform motor, pump and compressor rebuilds, equipment alignments, and
diagnostics on chiller and boiler systems.

Recognize system insufficiencies and troubleshoot to improvement/nominal state.

Perform leak detection, leak repair, recovery, and recharging tasks.

Install, repair/replace VFD's, valves, piping, exhaust, and duct work.

Perform electrical work on related facility equipment and systems.

Ensuring the efficient operation of automated control systems which could include
calibrating sensors, optimizing control algorithms, and working with user interfaces
for optimal and efficient performance. Programming a plus.

Interact and cooperate effectively with customer, contracted services personnel, and
building staff. Must be able to perform in a highly integrated team environment.

Assist in maintaining up-to-date files, equipment specifications, and maintenance logs
as it pertains to mechanical equipment.

Respond to system emergencies as directed.

Education Requirements:

High School Diploma combined with relevant work experience.
EPA Universal Certification.
HVAC Journeyman's license.
Building Automation Systems certificate or equivalent hands-on experience.
May be required to meet additional certain certifications in field
