Job summary

AdventHealth Orlando is seeking a skilled facilities maintenance technician to support heating, ventilation, and related building systems in a hospital environment. This full-time Day shift role emphasizes preventive maintenance, safety, and reliable operations.

Responsibilities include installing, inspecting, repairing, and coordinating with contractors on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and alarm systems; documenting work orders; responding to emergencies; and training staff as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent with 5+ years experience in a relevant role.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance of HVAC/R equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Complies with healthcare, federal, state, and local rules and regulations.
  • Develops and implements departmental equipment procedures for power outages.
  • Installs, inspects, maintains, repairs, and performs preventive maintenance on all heating, air conditioning, and ventilation systems.
  • Prepares the preventive maintenance schedule and produces reports.

  • Monitors work performed by outside contractors to ensure requirements are met and results are documented properly.
  • Responds to in-house work orders and preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Responds to emergency calls and takes call in accordance with facility needs.
  • Provides on-the-job skills training.
  • Supports and contributes to the development of new processes, products, or services.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Description:

1 Shift (7am to 3:30pm) Monday to Friday

  • Ability to identify equipment needs, parts and supplies, and maintain adequate inventory. [Required]
  • Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English. [Required]
  • Must have the ability to document records neatly and accurately. [Required]
  • Ability to generate requisitions for materials and supplies. [Required]
  • Ability to assign priority and teams in a timely manner. [Required]
  • Ability to instruct others as per blueprints and work from sketches. [Required]
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or scheduled form. [Required]
  • Ability to read, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. [Required]
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. [Required]
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volumes. [Required]
  • Knowledge of safe handling tools and equipment. [Required]
  • Basic Microsoft office computer skills. [Required]
Education:
  • High School/Equivalent grad OR 5+ years experience [Required]
Work Experience:
  • 2+ years of healthcare maintenance experience [Preferred]
  • 5+ years of hvac/r experience [Required]
  • 3+ years commercial experience [Preferred]
Licenses and Certifications:
  • Driver's License (DL) [Required]

Pay Range:

$23.91 - $44.46
